Well the point as far as I can see is so me and my GAY lover will be able to care for each other when one us gets sick, for instance in the Hospital if I am unable to talk or unconscious I guess, the medical staff will not allow my lover to make choices for me. Suck Huh.
Or if worse one of us were to die then he would have no legal right to any type of survivor benefits at all.
